So I bought myself a new laptop after some persuasion from Cammy and her mom (I was just shopping around initially). I need it for school since my old laptop.. well... The charger got lost, the motherboard died.. Dell replaced it but it broke again and it was out of warranty the second time. Gonna sell it for parts. But I got my new one now! What a HUGE improvement over my old cheapo one.

It's a Dell Latitude D820.. Got it for $1800 after $400 instant savings.

Yes, I know I ALWAYS talk trash about Dell products (though they are VERY good at fixing them if you have warranty)... And I don't wanna hear that I paid too much either. I know, I know =p

Now I just need to pay off the credit card I bought it with. Thank god for no interest.

Got Cammy a Zune for Christmas (early gift). The player is pretty nice. The software makes you want to commit suicide. I was soooo pissed off when it wouldn't let me even play the music when it was plugged into my laptop because it "belongs" to a different computer. Still got a few other little things to get her.

First of all, happy Thanksgiving everyone~

My family ended up having our own private thanksgiving.. We stayed home and had a feast, including my mom's famous broccoli casserole.

Everyone is in the living room watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire or something.. I went outside and installed my freshly-painted wipers (scratched the crap out of em in the process), fixed my fog lights (bad ground.. I need ring terminals), and replaced the trunk lid spring.

And budget stuff:

-85 dmv registration = 165 spending $$

I also want to fix my RC Car, for some reason. I need new front axles and a rear shock.
Starting next pay period, I have to put $100 per paycheck into car insurance.

I should probably also save up for a new windshield and radiator.

So I'm halfway (more like 90%) asleep, when I hear this cracking/popping noise. It stops, then I hear a jingle. It's my puppy. We put bells near the doors that he can ring when he needs to use the restroom.

As I'm putting my shorts on and I hear the cracking again.. I find the poor puppy squatting on some bubblewrap that was on the floor near back door.. He must have been ringing that bell and holding it in forever. I'm so proud of him for finding something else to crap on than the carpet~

I'm about to hop in the shower so I can go to Cammy's place.. The stupid dryer said "10 minutes remaining," so I ate some leftovers. Now it says "31 minutes remaining."

Anyway, FF8 music came on (I loaded a ton of crap into WinAmp) and I was reminded of the first time I had ever seen it... My dad was installing it on his computer at his cube (at work). I was so amazed by the graphics, and I was confused why it was still text instead of voices. Before this time, I only had emulators and such.

*Ahem* I better go take my shower so poor Cammy doesn't have to wait too long.

So on the news they mentioned how particles from the fire would affect people on the east side of Sac (IE Folsom.. and I'm even closer), and how the stuff could cause problems for certain people since the particles are small enough to get "deep inside the lungs" or something.

And I'm having a very hard time breathing.

In other news, my car has been acting up lately.. I don't feel like explaining, but basically it seemed like the car wasn't getting enough electricity with lights + fogs + fan, etc... so I brought it in to the shop this morning.. Few hours later, they told me to replace like everything in the engine bay except for the charging system which is in perfect shape.. $140 for the diagnosis + some electrical tape around a leaky intake hose.

Actually everything they said makes sense though. They do good EXPENSIVE work.. I just don't want to spend on their repair price when I could buy 5 more mr2's with the cash =p
